About the Business and the role

Join the Aboriginal Alcohol and Drug Service (AADS) in this rewarding role. As the only metropolitan Aboriginal specific alcohol and other drug service provider we support individuals to meet the needs of their families and communities.

AADS is growing fast and the strategic plan has set ambitious goals.

This Leadership Team role is vital to identify and secure funding for future programs to achieve the strategic plan.


Job tasks and responsibilities

A key component of this role is building strong relationships, partnerships and collaborations in the community services and Aboriginal community.  AADS currently manages a number of successful programs, and this role will be responsible for evaluating existing programs and identifying gaps and future opportunities.  Co-ordinating a team approach, this role will gather and collate information to develop proposals to secure program funding.

This role is also responsible for developing communication and marketing materials to maintain and raise the profile of AADS.


Skills and experience

You will be experienced in business and program development in the community sector, and have a good understanding of equality and diversity issues in a diverse Aboriginal cultural environment.

Evidence of excellent communication including presentation and negotiation skills, together with writing skills across a variety of media are essential.

You will need to demonstrate that you have successfully built relationships and have developed collaborations and partnerships in the community sector.

You will also need to demonstrate that you have operated in a leadership position.
