Palmerston Association is a leading and respected not for profit organisation supporting people with alcohol and other drug issues in Western Australia. We provide counselling, training, education and support for individuals, families and the wider community.
An opportunity is available for a creative and motivated person with tertiary qualifications in social, behavioural or health sciences to establish a new service for children in the South Eastern suburbs.
As the counsellor/educator, you will provide support to school aged children, 5-13 years, who are directly or indirectly affected by alcohol and other drugs. In this role you will promote the development of emotional literacy by encouraging children to express and talk about their feelings, actions, experiences and ideas. A key aspect of the supporting children role is to provide assessment to identify children who may benefit from referral.
You will be based across the Thornlie and Armadale branches, so a current driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential. The salary is $74,238. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
