Cyrenian House – Counsellor Educator

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Counsellor Educator to join our team at our Nannup site on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Counsellor Educator will provide professional alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselling, education, and support to consumers and their families within a residential setting. The role will have a strong focus on consumer engagement.

The Nannup Therapeutic Community facility is located in a beautiful rural setting near Nannup in the Southwest of Western Australia.

About the organisation:

Cyrenian House is a leading not-for-profit non-government organisation that has been operating within the alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment sector since 1981. Cyrenian House provides a wide range of high-quality treatment services that make a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by alcohol and other drugs.

Hours of Work:

The position is offered on a full-time permanent basis working 76 hours PFN. Level 4/5, salary of $96,295 – $113,725 per annum depending on experience.

To be appointed / successful in this role you will require the following key qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Degree in social, behavioural or health sciences.
  • Well-developed assessment and counselling skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with consumers experiencing issues related to alcohol and other drug use.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated and well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
  • Full work rights, Current National Police Clearance, Driver’s License, and First Aid Certificate.
