What to Expect

The 2025 Western Australian Alcohol and Other Drug Conference will be a vital gathering for professionals in the Alcohol and Other Drug sector and community members alike, aimed at exploring and sharing insights on the unique and complex dynamics of the sector from both metropolitan and regional viewpoints.

This year’s conference is designed to enhance professional networks, tackle shared challenges, and develop strategies that will positively impact our community. Building on the success of the 2021 WA Alcohol and Other Drug Conference, which featured keynote speeches from Common Cause Co-Founder Mark Chenery and Emeritus Professor Geoff Gallop, the focus remains on reducing stigma and encouraging community support for reform.

Over the course of three days, the conference will center around three key themes: Pathways, Systems, and Strategies. These themes are designed to provide a deeper understanding of sector issues, exploring strategies to address system gaps and barriers while encouraging positive initiatives. They will encompass organisational contributions, solutions, and emerging challenges in the alcohol and other drug sector.

Each day will feature breakout sessions following keynote addresses related to each theme, offering attendees opportunities to discuss and develop ideas, strategies, and goals.

“I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the Conference. I learned a great deal from the presentations and met with some very interesting and passionate people.”
