About the Role
The Counsellor Educator’s role is to provide culturally secure counselling, education, and support to individuals, families, and the local community, requiring a sound level of clinical knowledge and skills.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working with young people and their families
- Knowledge of alcohol and drug issues
- Well-developed assessment and counselling skills
- An understanding of prevention and willingness to promote it
- Ability to design and deliver activities to a range of audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
- High-level communication skills, both verbal and written
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
Pay Level: Equivalent to Level 4 – Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
