Manager Programs overseeing the management of our Children, Family and FDV programs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The General Manager Programs works with the CEO and Executive Team as a pivotal leadership position, providing strategic and operational oversight across a diverse portfolio of culturally responsive services.

These include early intervention and family support services, family domestic violence services, and out of home care services.

As a senior leader, the General Manager is responsible for driving service excellence, operational efficiency, workforce capability, and compliance, while embedding Aboriginal ways, flexible service delivery, and authentic connections into the work we do. The role also plays a key role in contributing to sector reform, policy development, and advocacy to influence systemic change.

This role will oversee the management of programs in Wungening’s Children, Family, and FDV Services portfolio.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (human services) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Cultural Competency and Community Engagement – Demonstrated understanding of the historical and contemporary issues impacting Aboriginal communities, with a proven ability to work in a culturally safe and respectful way.
  • Strategic leadership and organisational management – Significant experience managing programs in a senior leadership role.
  • Service excellence and program oversight – Demonstrated knowledge and experience working within relevant program areas, e.g. early intervention and family services, etc.
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance – Experience and understanding of the requirement to work within the structures of the organisation, manage risk, and meet compliance standards.
  • Workforce leadership and development – Proven ability to lead, inspire, and build workforce capability and a strong work culture.
  • Strong financial management with experience overseeing budgets, funding agreement, and resource planning. Demonstrated experience in the following sectors (Family Support, Early Intervention, FDV) or similar services.

ESSENTIAL PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • WA Working with Children Card
  • National Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months)
  • Department of Communities Screening and Justice Screening (we’ll help successful candidates apply)
  • WA Drivers Licence
