About the role
The Manager Aboriginal Engagement is a leadership position within Palmerston. The position provides cultural advice and supports the organisation in achieving ongoing and increasing culturally secure services to better meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. The role will assist to further develop Palmerston’s relationship with Elders, Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position (section [50D] of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984)
About you
The successful applicant will have;
- Established stakeholder relationships within communities in regions Palmerston operates across
- Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally respectful and responsive way with Aboriginal people, and with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders’.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in an area related to the role and the work of Palmerston
- Proven ability to cultivate productive and respectful working relationships
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
