WA Test and Cure Hepatitis C – What’s new in the National Hepatitis C Testing Policy

ASHM are hosting an online webinar on updates to the national Hepatitis C (HCV) Testing Policy on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm (AWST).

The session will cover high-quality point-of-care testing for HCV antibodies and HCV RNA, the importance of reflex HCV RNA testing, and the implementation of point-of-care testing in WA through case studies. This event is aimed at WA-based healthcare providers in primary care, including GPs, nurse practitioners, nurses, and those working with priority populations in drug and alcohol services, NSPs, homelessness settings, mental health services, prisons, mobile outreach, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

Speakers include Professor Jason Grebely from the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney and President of the International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU), Dr Claire Italiano, Infectious Diseases Physician at Royal Perth Hospital, Peta Gava, Overdose Prevention and Peer Naloxone Project Officer and Communication and Reporting Officer at Peer-based Harm Reduction WA, and Ali Lori, Clinic Coordinator and HepLink Project Officer at Hepatitis WA.
