An opportunity exists for a senior clinician with management experience to take the helm of one of WA’s leading residential alcohol and drug treatment services

About the Role:

The role of Counsellor Educator is to provide group and/or individual treatment to consumers involved in the criminal justice system to enable them to reduce the impact and harm of alcohol and other drug use on their lives and the lives of others.

This role will primarily deliver the group-based Pathways program in the public Perth metropolitan prisons.

The position is offered as a full-time role working 76 hours per fortnight and will be located at our Perth office on Fitzgerlad Street. There will be an expectation of travel to and from various Correction Services.

Level 4/5 $93,490 – $110,413 per annum depending on experience.

To be appointed / successful in this role you will require the following key qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A degree qualification in psychology, social work, counselling, or relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of alcohol and other drug issues.
  • Understanding of comorbidity in relation to alcohol and drug issues
  • Demonstrated assessment, case management and counselling skills.
  • Good presentation and group facilitation skills.
  • Experience in working with consumers from diverse backgrounds and different cultural groups.
  • Demonstrated and well developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
  • Full work rights, current Drivers Licence and vehicle, National Police Clearance / Department of Justice security clearances (employer initiated).
