About the Role:

We are currently seeking a qualified Counsellor Educator to join our Allied Drug & Alcohol Program & Treatment (ADAPT) team on a part-time basis. The position provides consumers involved in the criminal justice system with the necessary support and tools to enable them to reduce the impact and harm of alcohol and other drugs on their lives.

The position is offered as a part-time role at 38 hours per fortnight and is located from our Cyrenian Central Office based on Fitzgerald Street in Perth.

The position is offered as a level 4/5 $90,329 – $106,679 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation.

Cyrenian House provides a wide range of high-quality treatment services that make a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by alcohol and other drugs.

To be appointed / successful in this role you will require the following key qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A degree qualification in psychology, social work, counselling, or relevant experience in the alcohol and drug sector.
  • Understanding of comorbidity in relation to alcohol and drug issues
  • Demonstrated assessment, case management, counselling, and group facilitation skills.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in working with consumers from diverse backgrounds and different cultural groups.
  • Demonstrated and well developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software package including Word and Outlook.
  • Full work rights, National Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate and full Drivers Licence.
