Holyoake – Counsellor

Holyoake is a leading provider of counselling and support services for people impacted directly and indirectly by alcohol, other drugs, and related mental health issues. We operate through five locations in Victoria Park, Midland, Northam, Narrogin and Merredin, and employ over 100 staff.

We are inviting applications from suitably skilled Counsellors to work within the North East Metro Community Alcohol and Drug Services team on a part-time (4 days per week) basis. This is a great opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a clinical case load that focusses on comprehensive assessment, planning and the goal setting needs of clients.
  • Providing best practice counselling and clinical intervention for individuals, groups, couples, and families affected by alcohol and/or other drug use.
  • Maintain professional and up to date client records and data
  • Write professional and timely client reports outlining program engagement

Skills required:

  • Strong understanding of evidence-based AOD models and theories
  • High level AOD counselling skills and competency
  • Good computer literacy and accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to work non-judgmentally with a diverse client base

Criteria for successful applicants:

  • Tertiary qualification in counselling, psychology, or social sciences
  • National Police Clearance, no more than three months old
  • Current WA Driver’s Licence
