Student Placements in the Alcohol and other Drug Sector
Student placements in the alcohol and other drug sector provide a valuable opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of alcohol and other drug work and the rewards of a career in health and community services.
While students build confidence in working with people impacted by alcohol and other drugs, services benefit from students eager to apply their current knowledge and develop skills in the workplace.
The Student Experience
Former students share their experience of a placement in the alcohol and other drug sector.
Arranging a Student Placement or Internship
Students wishing to arrange a student placement or internship should approach alcohol and other drug services directly. You can find alcohol and other drug services that are certified against recognised quality standards listed in the GreenBook Directory of Alcohol and other Drug Services in WA.
We encourage students to approach services as soon as practical.
Alcohol and other drug services wishing to host a student on placement should contact relevant vocational and tertiary education institutions.
The McCusker Centre for Citizenship also arranges internships for students wishing to apply their new skills and knowledge in the community while gaining experience in the workplace.
