Hepatitis C Testing, Treatment and Support
Despite highly effective treatment being available through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme since 2016, many people living with hepatitis C remain untreated.
Some common ways people can get hepatitis C include:
- Tattoo or body piercing done outside a professional studio
- Time in prison
- Injecting drug use
- Partner/s who are at risk of Hep C
If any of these have ever applied, even once, or a long time ago, getting tested for hepatitis C can play an important role in supporting health.
