Injury Matters – Alcohol and Injury Prevention Forum: Turning Evidence into Action

Injury Matters - Alcohol and Injury Prevention Forum: Turning Evidence into Action

Injury Matters is hosting a free hybrid Alcohol and Injury Prevention Forum, bringing together evidence and practice to reduce alcohol-related harm:

Alcohol and Injury Prevention Forum: Turning Evidence into Action
Thursday 19 February 2026
9:30am – 12pm
The Hub, Bentley Technology Park (Online option available)

Alcohol remains the leading risk factor for injury in Australia, contributing to 14 per cent of the total injury burden through impacts on coordination, alertness and decision-making.

The forum will explore the link between alcohol and injury, best-practice harm minimisation approaches, alcohol licensing, and key Western Australian initiatives supporting alcohol harm reduction.

The program includes presentations from the National Drug Research Institute and Cancer Council WA, alongside case studies from Strong Spirit Strong Mind and other organisations.
