Conversations on Culture and Community at Ngumpan Festival

Conversations on Culture and Community at Ngumpan Festival

The recent Ngumpan Festival presented a unique opportunity for the Kimberley Youth Alcohol and other Drug Service Consultation team to meet people and engage in valuable conversations about culture and community.

Each year, the Kimberley Land Council (KLC), Kimberley Aboriginal Law And Culture Centre (KALACC), Kimberley Language Resource Centre (KLRC), Aarnja and Empowered Young Leaders (EYL) come together on Country to hold their Combined Annual General Meetings. This year marked the 40th anniversaries of both KALACC and KLRC, who celebrated 40 years of law, language, and culture.

Thanks to everyone who welcomed Rochelle and Helin during their stay in the Kimberley, especially the team from Milliya Rumurra.
