Regional Alcohol and Other Drug Representatives Unite to Tackle Challenges and Shape Future Strategy

Regional Alcohol and Other Drug Representatives Unite to Tackle Challenges and Shape Future Strategy

Eleven regional alcohol and other drug service representatives met at WANADA’s Regional Rural and Remote Managers Forum in Perth and online earlier this month to share how they are working to support individuals, families and communities to reduce alcohol and other drug related harm.

Participants took the opportunity to discuss the Western Australian Mental Health and Alcohol and other Drug Strategy 2025 – 2030 Discussion Paper in preparation for upcoming consultation.

Regional, rural and remote alcohol and other drug services cover vast distances with limited resources, often going above and beyond to support service users. WANADA thanks all participants for their generous contribution to the forum and we look forward to hearing more at future online events.

Deb Slade (Palmerston Association Great Southern Community Alcohol and Drug Service) Alishia Cartmill (WA Country Health Service Kimberley Community Alcohol and Drug Service), Andrew Amor (Milliya Rumurra Aboriginal Corporation), Jill Rundle (WANADA), Gabriela Browarczyk (Yaandina Community Services), Fleur Harding (WA Country Health Service Midwest Community Alcohol and Drug Service), Sally Malone (Cyrenian House Milliya Rumurra – CHMR), and Julie Mobbs
(Yaandina Community Services) were all in attendance with Sam Doran (Hope Community Services Pilbara Community Alcohol and other Drug Service), Lisa Streets and Sarah Nickson (Hope Community Services Goldfields Community Alcohol and Drug Service), and Matthew Steffel (Holyoake Wheatbelt Community Alcohol and Drug Service) among the online participants.
