About the role:
Lead Yaandina’s Community AOD portfolio—including the Sobering Up Centre, Low Medical Detox Facility, Mingga Community Connectors, and the Pilbara Integrated Drug & Alcohol Service (PIDAS)—to deliver culturally secure, person-centred prevention, diversion, intervention and treatment services.
The role provides oversight of contract performance, workforce capability, clinical governance, risk and compliance. Although scoped to Community AOD, the role maintains an integral operational and governance connection with Turner River Rehabilitation Centre and therefore requires working knowledge of ATCA Therapeutic Community Standards and strong inter-service collaboration to ensure seamless pathways, shared governance and aligned quality standards.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Provide strategic leadership for Community AOD Services, aligned with organisation priorities and the AOD Human Services Standards
- Build strong partnerships with funders, government agencies, Aboriginal Corporations and community stakeholders
- Oversee contract performance, reporting, financial accountability and governance requirements
- Maintain strong collaboration with the Turner River Rehabilitation Centre Manager, to ensure consistent shared systems, policies and AOD wide service

- Lead safe, effective and culturally secure delivery across Community AOD programs in line with the AOD Human Services Standards
- Oversee client pathways (assessment, referral, case coordination, through-care) and ensure aligned processes with Turner River where services intersect.
- Ensure operational plans, documentation, policies and systems meet contractual, accreditation and quality requirements.
About you:
- Proven experience in an AOD/Human Services Leadership position
- Ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams across rural and remote settings
- Strong understanding/ability to interpret and apply relevant standards
- Excellent organisational, communication and time-management skills
- Experience in conducting audits and supporting accreditation processes
- Understanding and respect for cultural diversity, ensuring culturally responsive care
Requirements & Qualifications of the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health, Human Services, Business or related field, essential.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in AOD/Human Services leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience in business development and compliance management.
- Valid National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
- Valid Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid AOD screen or willingness to obtain
Hours of work:
This position is a full-time position, 76-hour fortnight. Hours are 08:00 till 16:00, however can be worked flexibly. We do ask for you to be able to work flexible hours outside of this for on-call purposes.
