Nominations Open for Strong Spirit Strong Mind Aboriginal Alcohol and Other Drug Awards
Nominations are now open for the Strong Spirit Strong Mind Aboriginal Alcohol and Other Drug Awards 2026, presented as part of the Aboriginal Alcohol and Other Drug Workers Forum 2026: Community First, held on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October 2026 at the Pan Pacific Perth (Boorloo/Perth). The Awards honour the outstanding Aboriginal workers, students, programs, organisations and partnerships contributing to stronger, healthier communities across Western Australia. Each category reflects a different aspect of leadership and culturally responsive practice in the alcohol and other drug sector:
- WA Aboriginal AOD Worker of the Year – recognising exceptional personal and professional achievement
- Innovative and Culturally Responsive AOD Program – celebrating programs developed with and for Aboriginal communities
- Partnership Award – acknowledging collaborative approaches that strengthen outcomes
- Organisation Recognition Award – highlighting organisations that support Aboriginal workers and service delivery
- Outstanding Student Award – recognising emerging leaders studying or completing placements in the sector
